AI can write surprisingly scary and creative horror stories

As soon as per hour, Shelley tweets out a brand new story at her account @shelley_ai. She relies on responses from other Twitter users to maintain the story going. Customers can reply with as much as three threaded tweets and finish their additions to the story with #yourturn. Different customers or Shelley will then chime in to select up the place you left off. It is necessary to notice that Shelley will not proceed each story that is tweeted at her. She’ll solely reply to the highest tales; these are measured by interactions (so likes and retweets).

The mission is from the MIT Media Lab and is designed by Pinar Yanardag, Manuel Cebrian and Iyad Rahwan, in response to Fast.co Design. The group used 140,000 horror tales from the subreddit r/nosleep to show the AI tips on how to inform a horror story human would discover intelligible, compelling and scary. Maybe probably the most attention-grabbing side of Shelley, although, is her reliance on human interplay to facilitate her storytelling. It is an attention-grabbing instance of AI and people working collectively to create one thing totally new.
